Position: Fundraising Vice President (FVP)
As Fundraising Vice President, I managed financial operations for board events by collecting, recording, and organizing payments from board members. I maintained accurate financial records, including organizing receipts and reimbursement forms, and ensured all teens submitted required reimbursement documentation. I followed up on outstanding payments due after events by communicating reminders through group chats and coordinating directly with the Advisor when necessary.
I ensured all board members paid required event fees and collaborated closely with the Advisor to resolve payment issues. I learned how to write and process checks and handled check writing when applicable. Additionally, I solicited donations for Purim Extravaganza raffle baskets in advance of the event and served as the organizer and chair of the Purim Extravaganza, overseeing fundraising coordination and event execution.
Position: Membership Vice President (MVP)
As Membership Vice President, I managed and maintained accurate membership communication lists, including updating grades, removing inactive members, and creating a new, up-to-date email and phone database with an emphasis on direct teen contact rather than parent information. I collaborated with STISY members to verify and update contact details and collected emails and phone numbers from teen volunteers during High Holy Day events.
I took attendance at all events, actively engaged with newcomers, and helped create a welcoming environment by encouraging board members to greet and connect with new participants. I planned and oversaw mixers, including events for the Board Retreat, the first event of the year, and the retreat retreat.
Additionally, I created and organized a dedicated Google Drive folder containing comprehensive plans for at least three original, newly designed mixers: a bus mixer, an in-house mixer, and an out-of-house event. I promoted STISY events at Hebrew High, including outreach to 8th-grade students toward the end of the year, to support membership growth and engagement.
Position: Programming Vice President (PVP)
As Programming Vice President, I oversaw the development, quality, and execution of all programs and events. I assumed the responsibilities of the Executive Vice President in her absence and collaborated closely with the President on board operations and event planning. I assisted with Board Retreat planning and preparation, and co-led a program-writing workshop alongside the Advisor and President.
I was responsible for writing, reviewing, and editing all program assignments, providing constructive feedback and comments to program writers, and clearly communicating all edits and suggestions. I taught other board members how to write effective and engaging programs using creative and interactive methods. Additionally, I organized and maintained a centralized program bank on Google Docs to store ideas and materials for future events.
I ensured timely completion of programs by reminding board members of due dates and following up as needed. I also helped design and oversee a variety of programming initiatives, including Jewish leadership activities, environmental programs, and physical activities, while collaborating with the President and Executive Vice President on general board and event needs.
